How ThreatHawk Handles Data
This Privacy Policy explains how ThreatHawk processes tool input, uses analytics services, handles cookies and interacts with third-party security providers.
Last updated: 19 August 2026
1. Introduction
ThreatHawk is a free, open-source collection of browser-based cybersecurity tools. This policy describes how information may be processed when you visit the ThreatHawk website or use its tools.
ThreatHawk does not currently require user accounts, subscriptions or login credentials.
2. Local Browser Processing
Most ThreatHawk tools are designed to process submitted information locally inside your browser.
Depending on the tool, this may include passwords, hashes, log files, encoded text and other investigation data. ThreatHawk does not intentionally upload or store this locally processed information on its own application server.
You should still avoid entering confidential, regulated or personally identifiable information unless you understand how the selected tool works.
3. External Security Services
Some ThreatHawk features may use third-party security or reputation services. For example, a URL reputation check may send a submitted URL or related indicator to an external security provider.
When a tool relies on an external service, the relevant page should clearly identify that external processing may occur.
Information sent to a third-party provider is governed by that provider's own privacy practices and terms.
4. Analytics and Website Usage Data
ThreatHawk currently uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand website performance, page usage, navigation behaviour and technical issues.
These services may process information such as pages visited, approximate geographic region, browser type, device type, operating system, referral source, session duration and interaction data.
Analytics information is used to improve ThreatHawk's usability, performance, reliability and content. It is not intended to identify users personally.
5. Google Analytics
ThreatHawk uses Google Analytics 4 to measure website traffic and understand how visitors use the platform.
Google Analytics may use cookies, device information and similar technologies to generate aggregated usage statistics. Google requires websites using Analytics to disclose its use and explain that Google may collect and process data through the service.
Google states that IP addresses are not logged or stored in Google Analytics properties, although network information may be processed to derive approximate geographic information.
6. Google AdSense and Advertising
ThreatHawk uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google, to support the website through advertising.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers in connection with advertisements displayed on ThreatHawk.
Google and its advertising partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on a user's visits to ThreatHawk and other websites, where permitted by applicable law and the user's consent preferences.
Users may manage personalized advertising preferences through Google's advertising settings. Browser settings and applicable consent controls may also be used to manage cookies and similar technologies.
Information collected or processed through Google advertising services is subject to Google's own privacy practices and policies.
7. Microsoft Clarity
ThreatHawk uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with pages through aggregated behavioural analytics such as clicks, scrolling, navigation and session activity.
Microsoft states that Clarity may use non-essential cookies containing pseudonymous identifiers to associate interaction data across page views and generate aggregated analytics.
ThreatHawk does not intentionally use Clarity to collect passwords, private log contents, hashes or other sensitive tool input.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
ThreatHawk itself does not currently provide user accounts or authentication cookies. However, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and other third-party services may place cookies or use similar technologies when their scripts are active.
Cookies may help distinguish sessions, measure website usage and generate aggregated reports.
You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings, although doing so may reduce the accuracy or availability of certain analytics features.
9. Data Retention
ThreatHawk does not intentionally retain passwords, hashes, encoded text or uploaded log files processed entirely inside the browser.
Analytics and third-party service providers may retain usage data according to their own configured retention settings, privacy policies and legal obligations.
10. External Links
ThreatHawk may link to GitHub, LinkedIn, security providers and other external websites. ThreatHawk is not responsible for the privacy practices, availability or content of third-party websites.
11. Children's Privacy
ThreatHawk is intended as a general cybersecurity and educational platform and is not specifically directed toward children.
ThreatHawk does not knowingly request personal information from children through user accounts or registration forms.
12. Security
Reasonable efforts are made to reduce unnecessary collection and exposure of submitted information. However, no website, browser, network connection or third-party service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users remain responsible for deciding whether information is appropriate to submit to any ThreatHawk tool.
13. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when ThreatHawk adds new tools, analytics services, external integrations or other features.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
14. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be submitted through the ThreatHawk Contact page.
